Career counseling is not only valuable for the employee; it also brings positive effects for the employer. Communication between the supervisor and the employee improves and the employee's overall functioning and self-management ability is enhanced. It also appears that an employee who has had career counseling has an improved self-image. In short: an employee who is in charge of his or her career functions better and knows how to optimally shape his or her position.
After the interviews, the consultant identifies opportunities and ambitions with the employee. It is examined whether there is an opportunity within the current work situation to realize those ambitions. Should this not be the case, another job is looked at. Through many conversations and assessments, the employee will eventually end up on the right track.
