"You connect with so many different kinds of people."

What makes it possible to work at Puls so much fun and why did our consultants Puls elected? Consultant and team leader Liesanne de Jong shares her experience at Puls.

It was a logical step for me to start working here. After working for three years as absence case manager for an absence insurance company, I knew what I wanted and what I didn't want anymore. I wanted to use my knowledge of absenteeism and a place where there is room for customization and attention for people in a dynamic environment. I have certainly found that here.

Informal and collegial

I have been a team leader since September 2020 and I have been working at the Puls. Inside Puls there is an informal and collegial atmosphere. We have a solo function, but we are always there for each other. We have a great sense of responsibility and are all social, friendly, people-oriented people.

Interviewing the candidate

No work day is the same and that makes me very happy. My day consists of interviews with candidates we supervise and I often speak with colleagues from the team. I am regularly at the office in Nieuwegein, but I also sometimes work from our offices in Rotterdam and Schiphol-Rijk. In addition, I often speak to candidates at their workplace to gain more insight into where they are coming from and where they want to go. A working day consists of a lot of switching; fixed appointments in the agenda alternate with phone calls and e-mails that need to be answered.

Seeking Connection

You connect with so many different kinds of people. You get a glimpse into someone's life, often at a vulnerable time. That someone then takes you into their confidence and includes you in the lessons they are learning. While together you get to actively look at the future and possibilities in work.

Energizers

I get great satisfaction when candidates find the conversations enjoyable, what they can do with the insights they gain for the future of their career, but also just being a listening ear for them. Sometimes someone contacts you many months later saying they are grateful for the conversations and the insights they gained from the process. That makes my day!
