'I felt that an employer was not waiting for me'

Nadia: 'At the moment 2nd track I found it very difficult to think about work. Because of my complaints, I had the feeling that an employer was not waiting for me. Because of my limitations, I had quite a few requirements in terms of work. For example, I am available for a maximum of 24 hours and I need flexibility in my working days. It often happens that I suddenly can't work for a day due to doctor's appointments. In addition, I was looking for sedentary work. An employer must therefore be able to deal with this. Because of these demands, I became very insecure about what I could do.'

'A shot in the arm'

Nadia got during her 2nd track trajectory guidance from Career Consultant Anita. 'My reintegration counsellor Anita was familiar with the organisation and advised me to send an open application. I did that and after a job interview and a half-day trial run, I was hired. This job is a bull's-eye.'

Nadia was able to work at this new employer as a telephone operator with a flexible schedule. 'They take my situation into account here and that takes a lot of worries away from me. I feel at home here and I have a nice team around me. My self-confidence has really increased since I started this job.'

'The support allowed me to persevere'

Nadia: 'Puls I experienced it as very compassionate. If I needed anything, I always got in touch with my coach quickly. They also searched along with me and listened to me carefully. Thanks to Puls I have found this vacancy and I feel very much at home within this organization. Puls guided me well and gave me the opportunity that my wishes were really looked at. I had quite a few requirements in terms of work, so it was a difficult search. Still, thanks to the support, I was able to persevere and grab this opportunity with both hands.

'A big part of my life back'

I not only have new job but I have a big part of my life back. The pieces of the puzzle are now falling together. This job fits well with my private situation and that makes me happier to undertake things in addition.'

Nadia's tips:

  • Show that you really want it and always express what you need and what you want.
  • Seize it as an opportunity because beautiful things can emerge.

"This has given me the opportunity to find something that suits me very well without too much pressure.
