Scarcity in the labor market! How can I protect my human capital?

In the current labor market it is hard enough to find (good) staff and it is therefore even more important to protect and retain your human capital for your organization in the best possible way. The use of a Sustainable Employability Survey can help with this.

Sustainable Employability Research (DIO).

In a world where "change" seems to be the only constant, we expect employees to be able to adapt to changes at work and/or changes in their personal situations. This usually works, but sometimes the changes are so great that as an employer you are concerned about the sustainable employability of your employee in their own work. For example, you see different behavior of the employee or bottlenecks arise in the ability to perform their own work. Especially if this takes on structural forms, it is important that you pay timely attention to these signals. On the one hand to prevent (frequent) drop-out and on the other hand to make your employee aware of his or her sustainable employability.

What kind of signals should I think of?

There are numerous signs, as everyone expresses themselves differently. Some examples are:

  • The employee has difficulty performing certain activities in their own work;
  • Employee seeks help from colleagues more than average;
  • The employee struggles with (the changed) way of working;
  • The employee has significantly lower output than before;
  • The employee takes longer and longer to do the work;
  • The employee makes more mistakes than usual.

Ownership

Puls finds 'ownership' essential. That is why we make the employee as much as possible responsible for promoting his/her sustainable employability. Puls seeks the direction of solutions for bottlenecks as much as possible in the employee's own immediate environment. This prevents you as an employer from being forced to pay for interventions over which you have no influence. When a specific intervention and/or adjustment from the employer is needed, we will of course discuss this with you.

What to expect from a Sustainable Employability Examination (DIO)

Based on the conversations the Occupational Assessor has had with your employee and you, the Occupational Assessor will translate his or her findings into concrete bottlenecks and solution directions in order to restore any imbalance as much as possible and promote your employee's sustainable employability in your organization.
