Jeannette: "I sometimes think back to the time when I worked as a freelancer. A boring existence with not too many assignments. If I compare that time with my current existence as a Occupational Assessor employed at Puls, then I've improved a lot!"

Difference between self-employment and salaried employment

A big advantage of working as a self-employed person is that you can determine your own hours. For Jeannette, that was where she was, when she started at Puls, not much difference in it.

"In my digital agenda (PlanningAgenda) I indicate on which days and times I am available for a Occupational health assessment. Our team planner ensures that my agenda is filled as desired. It feels very luxurious that the assignments flow to me automatically!

I work in Team Zuid and am on my way almost every day to a Occupational health assessment. While driving, it is wonderful to call colleagues. Sparring about cases, talking about your experiences at work and events in your private life. It's great if you do the same job, so you understand each other very well. As experienced Occupational Assessor I am also a mentor for a young person Occupational Assessor. It's nice to provide her with advice when she asks for it."

Working together for knowledge and expertise

"If I have any comments or questions about the FML, I contact the company doctor of sister organization De Arbodienst. Both Puls and The Occupational Health and Safety Service fall under paraDIGMA groep So contact details are always present and the lines of communication are short.

In the afternoon, I'm usually at home working on my reports. I am therefore available for phone calls from the Work and Health Advisors of the Occupational Health and Safety Service who want to consult. It's also nice to coordinate with the colleagues within Puls engaged in second-track sections. It's always good to be able to make use of each other's knowledge."

The transition from self-employment to paid employment at Puls has given Jeannette a lot of pleasure. She still experiences a lot of freedom, and now also in working with colleagues, being able to visit each other and exchanging knowledge and expertise. "I enjoy being able to work with so many professionals around me. I am convinced that this will lead us to better results."
