Yvon's success story: "I found my dream job"

Yvon had worked in care for many years, including the past 13.5 years in care for the disabled. After a number of intense years with a lot of aggression in the workplace, she found herself at home with, among other things, a burn-out. After a few months Yvon was advised to talk to the 2nd track consultant of Puls.

By starting now, it would give Yvon plenty of time to explore what opportunities were available to her outside her own employer. Reluctantly, Yvon agreed. The first appointment with the consultant, even though it took place online because of applicable measures, gave an immediate click. This was a big deal for Yvon. "Even though I still felt it was totally unnecessary, I did go for it 100%. I found the personality and occupational tests very interesting and was surprised by the results as well. I discovered that I, my surroundings and colleagues all look at my qualities differently. I also discovered that I no longer wanted to work in healthcare at that point."

The search

When the trajectory resumed after a period of treatment, it soon became clear that Yvon would like to work with children and adolescents and that is where we focused the search. During that search, it became increasingly clear to Yvon that she needed to let go of her current employer and focus on another employer. "By preparing a good resume and cover letter, I was able to start applying for jobs. Through various job applications, job shadowing days and a work experience placement, I found out what I really wanted: to work with children and young people with a backpack. This is how I ended up in a group for deaf children with intellectual disabilities. I have been working there for almost two months now and I go to work every day with great pleasure and hope to work there for many years to come."

Working with Puls

During the 2nd track process Yvon worked intensively with the consultant of Puls: "I really liked the guidance of the consultant. I immediately felt a click and that was very important to me. She radiated calmness and positive energy. She went along at my pace but also spoke to me when I was again going much too fast and that was at the expense of my recovery. She listened well, gave advice when necessary but also let me figure out a lot for myself. I could tell my story to her but I could also have a good laugh with her. In this process I got a lot of insights about myself and my talents and qualities and most importantly: I found my dream job."
