What is a court expert?

A difference between two or more parties may be brought to court. If the judge has less knowledge about a particular issue, a court expert assists him or her during the process. Usually the court expert is appointed by the judge, but one of the parties involved may want to use this specialist without a judge.

What do we have Occupational Assessor and court expert?

If any of the following disagreements should arise in the course of a court case, the Occupational Assessor To take up the position of court expert:

• UWV assessments in the broadest sense, including WIA assessments;
• Regarding personal injury;
• Private disability insurance;
• Assessments of suitable employment.

Both the judge and the parties involved can then ask questions of the expert. These may include questions such as:

• Is there suitable work with one's own employer?
• What would be the income of someone with and without certain injuries?
• What is the loss of earning capacity based on the CBBS assessment or on earnings?
