"The client initially volunteered as a medication packer and then as a telephone operator at a non-profit organization. She noticed that after more than a year she was now ready for work with more substance. Nothing to the detriment of volunteering, that was just the period in her life that was perfect. It gave her work rhythm, she could get used to colleagues and participate in the work process again. Now that the client wants some more varied tasks more in line with her level, this new step towards a next WEP has started.

During the consultation with the counselor, we discussed looking for a WEP in a small work setting with varied tasks at about her old level. No managerial aspects, a fixed point of contact and above all a safer environment. In consultation with the counselor, a number of positions were selected that would best suit her. The positions not only fit her limitations but also her needs. This so that the WEP is a nice new experience where she can forget about her negative experiences at the old workplace, and start working with fresh courage and confidence and above all be permanently employable."

"The client has good potential in the job market, but dated experience or no experience for some positions. However, she is motivated and is certainly capable of applying her experience and knowledge elsewhere.

The client wanted to return to work in the direction of administration, but after several phone calls and emails I could conclude that this was going to be a difficult task. Of the organizations I had approached, all did not have space, time or people to fill her in. Of course, COVID-19 also creates fewer jobs which means less work available for a WEP candidate. But my goal was to get the client working! This too with a party where she could return to her former level. An insurance company might have been a bit high, but it was worth a try. So I called a health insurance intermediary and explained my candidate's situation. The lady on the phone was skeptical, but wanted to see what she could do for her. The company is a small organization that is growing despite COVID-19. For this reason, the company itself already wanted to start looking for an intern, but they hadn't gotten around to this yet."

"So my phone call came at exactly the right time! A few days later she called enthusiastically with the good news that after internal consultation she had received approval to start working with my candidate.

I understand from the consultant that the conversation between the contact person and the client went very well. Precisely because the client has life experience and can work constructively in hours (something the contact person would like because there is not yet enough work immediately as the company is growing) and even though it is slightly dated, has administrative experience. There was the right click, which is why the contact person also indicated that if things go well on the WEP over the next few months, the client could be employed subsequently. The UWV contact person is enthusiastic and satisfied with the WEP found!"
