Sickness law flex trajectory

A Sickness Law flex program is a reintegration program used for former employees who receive Sickness Law benefits after the end of their temporary contract. As an employer, if you bear the risk, you are responsible for the reintegration of this (former) employee.

The goal of Sickness Law flex coaching is clear: advancement to suitable work in which the employee can earn 65% of the original income.

When is a sickness law flex trajectory the right step?

  • an employee left employment within 2 years of the first day of illness;
  • As an employer, you are self-insured for the Sickness Benefits Act;
  • you remain responsible for reintegration and benefit costs.

The early deployment of a sickness law flex trajectory helps to:

  • reducing costs;
  • prevent inflow into the WIA;
  • reduce the risk of sanctions from the UWV;
  • as well as contributing to corporate social responsibility.

A sickness law flex trajectory at Puls: this is how we work

Puls offers intensive, personalized counseling tailored to the unique situation of the ex-employee. The program consists of several components:

class="lazyload
  • Guidance from a permanent consultant in their own region
    Thanks to our national coverage, we pair the ex-employee with a regular career and reintegration consultant from their own region. Puls has a national network of employers who are open to candidates with a distance to the labor market, allowing us to create many additional opportunities for our candidates.
  • Drawing up a search profile
    We identify abilities, limitations, interests and experience. Based on this, we draw up a realistic search profile as a starting point for the joint search.
  • Job application and networking coaching.
    The former employee receives support from the consultant in preparing or improving the resume, writing good motivational texts and conducting interviews. All aimed at confident, goal-oriented job market approach.
  • Active job search
    Our own Jobfinders search daily for suitable and often hidden opportunities in the labor market. They are a valuable addition to the candidate's search.
  • Gaining work experience
    When necessary, we engage in internships, work experience positions or secondments to gain new experience and increase the likelihood of placement.
  • Training or retraining.
    If it increases the chances of returning to suitable work, Puls can support training or retraining, with new opportunities for the future.
  • Knowledge of facilities or schemes
    The Puls consultants are well versed in the subsidy possibilities and facilities that are available, such as the no-risk policy, wage subsidy or trial placements. By actively bringing this to the attention of potential new employers, any financial barriers can be greatly reduced.

What is the impact of a sickness law flex trajectory?

For the (former) employee:

  • Guidance to work that fits within taxability
  • Insight, structure and renewed perspective
  • Strengthening self-confidence and skills
  • Opportunity for income recovery and sustainable participation

For the employer (self-insured sickness law carrier):

  • Shorter benefit duration and lower costs
  • Reduced risk of WIA entry or sanctions from the UWV
  • Maintaining control of the reintegration process.
  • Positive contribution to corporate social responsibility
  • Possibility of using grants and financial schemes
