Support with a WIA application
The WIA (Work and Income to Work Act) is designed for employees who are unable to work fully or sustainably after two years of illness. However, the application process can be stressful for several factors:
- Uncertainty of outcome: employees may be uncertain whether the application will be approved and what degree of disability will be awarded.
- Financial concerns: depending on the outcome of the assessment, employees may face significantly reduced income.
- Complexity of the application: submitting the application can be complex for employees, think little to no computer skills, not having (full) command of the Dutch language, gathering all supplies.
- Social and psychological impact: applying for WIA can also trigger feelings such as failure or shame, which can lead to a negative impact on self-esteem and/or mental health.

Puls WIZ meetings: support in WIA application
With the advent of the WIZ meetings, Puls can offer your employees support when applying for WIA. It gives employees the opportunity to discuss all their questions and concerns regarding the WIA application in person. You can read more about the WIZ meeting here.
From the question, "Who does the application?" to the financial consequences; all aspects of the WIA application are clearly explained during these meetings. We recommend having the employee attend a WIZ meeting one month before the WIA application must be completed. The WIZ meetings are held throughout the Netherlands. When registering, the employer can choose the location that suits the employee best.
