A supplemental Occupational health assessment for self-insured carriers is used when:

  • There is a need for an update on previousadvice on suitable work or reintegration.

The Occupational Assessor assesses the balance between medical load capacity (as recorded in an IZP or FML) and workload. This involves looking at opportunities for:

  • Adjustments in former work

  • Work with another employer2nd track)

This examination is often initiated around 42 weeks after the WIA examination, to gain clarity on next steps within the reintegration process.

The Occupational Assessor examines the strain of the original work and any alternative positions within the organization. These are carefully weighed against the employee's medical capabilities.
